Himalayan Dash

In May 2022, I embarked on a road trip to Sikkim with my parents, it was a special adventure filled with memories. The trip was made possible by Cougar Motorsports in the All-New Safari, courtesy Tata Motors. Our journey started from Siliguri in West Bengal, as we set off towards the captivating town of Pelling in West Sikkim. The scenic drive through winding roads and lush green landscapes set the tone for an incredible expedition.

On the second day, we ventured to Darap Village, inhabited by the Limboo tribes. Immersed in their vibrant culture, we felt a deep connection to the rich traditions of the region.

The third day brought us to Lachen, as we continued our exploration of Sikkim's picturesque wonders. The following day, we embarked on a thrilling drive to the awe-inspiring Guru Dongmar Lake, nestled at a high altitude. Standing in awe of its pristine beauty, we felt a sense of serenity that only nature can bestow. From there, we journeyed to Lachung, another scenic gem of Sikkim.

As the fifth day unfolded, we continued our expedition, driving from Lachung to the vibrant city of Gangtok. The bustling streets, delicious cuisine, and vibrant culture captivated our senses, making our stay in Gangtok truly memorable. The sixth day was dedicated to visiting the iconic Rumtek Monastery, where we immersed ourselves in the spiritual ambiance accentuated by the chants of hymns by 100s of monks.

Our adventure continued on the seventh day, as we embarked on an exciting drive to the renowned Nathula Pass, which lies on the Chinese border. The majestic views and the sense of being at the crossroads of two nations left us in awe of the region's geopolitical significance. From there, we made our way to Kalimpong, a charming town with its own unique allure.

As our road trip drew to a close, the last day saw us driving back to Siliguri from Kalimpong, cherishing the memories and experiences we had gathered throughout the journey. Our family road trip to Sikkim in a Tata Safari was a testament to the power of exploration, togetherness, and the beauty that lies in sharing adventures with loved ones.
